In 2003, I won a scholarship to train at NCDT accredited drama school, The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London, where roles included 'Katharina' in The Taming of the Shrew (dir. Kim Durham), 'Nina' in The Seagull (dir. Stuart Wood) and 'Anne' in The Passing-Out Parade (dir. Lennox Greaves).
Since graduating from ALRA, I have worked extensively in theatre, radio, TV, commercials and short films. Whilst the majority of my work has been in the theatre, the job I'm asked about more than any other was my role as the Krillitane School Nurse in the Doctor Who episode, School Reunion (Series 2, episode 3). Some rather nice reviews were received for performances as 'Louise' in Shoes (Hampstead Theatre), 'Celia' in As You Like It and 'Maria' in Twelfth Night (both at The Cambridge Shakespeare Festival). Reviews of GamePlan at The English Theatre of Hamburg (2007, played 'Kelly Butcher'): "Powerful"; "The real discovery is Susan Casanove ... putting a dampener on love, to roars of laughter, she comically traipses through the eroticised setting."
Most recently, I have recorded the lead role of 'Bulah' in my radio play, We are not the BBC alongside Christopher Timothy. The play is a Wireless Theatre Company production and is available for free MP3 download here. I am currently working on the sequel, We are the BBC.
